We took another cable car to our bed and breakfast in the tiny town of Gimmelwald. We are literally hanging onto the mountain! Our room is adorable but spacious, spotless and cozy. A dinner of fondue cliffside topped off our evening! Tomorrow well do more hiking (walked 13 miles today).

Alps...no words!
It is impossible to describe the spendor of the Alps. Words like majestic, aw-inspiring or just plain WOW come to mind. We took a train from Basel, Switzerland to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland today. We decided to stay up in the Alps since that's what we came to see! We took a train up the mountain and then a cable car to hike to a peak that is more than 7,500 ft up. We then took an easy but jaw-dropping hike across a ridge (and over lots of melting snow) to some amazing peaks at the heart of our valley. Ruben kept spinning around and singing "The Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music." Ok, you know that's not true. But seriously, you are amazed at the wonder of Gods creation up here, and feel closer to Heaven for sure!

Amanda, the pics are beautiful but I have to admit laughing out loud every time I picture Ruben singing the song to the Sound of Music. Haha! So glad you guys are having a great time. Thanks for sharing the experience with us (via the pics).
